Mobile Phones

From September 2026, children will not be allowed to bring an internet enabled mobile device into school.

This means that children may only bring a 'brick phone'. The Smartphone Free Childhood site has a list of suggested phones that might be good options as an alternative to a smart phone, as well as some really interesting information on smartphones in childhood  – the link to this is here: Smartphone Free Childhood

Our current expectations of phone storage during the day will remain:

  • Any phone device brought into school must be put away in school bags on entry to the school playground.
  • The device must stay there throughout the day and can only be taken out on exiting the gate.
  • If a device is seen or used during the day it will be confiscated for a period of time.
