Sarah Phipps
Chair of Governors

Co-opted Governor

Sarah has worked with children for all of her career, initially as a N.N.E.B nursery nurse in workplace nurseries, schools, a large general hospital and as a nanny in home settings. Sarah trained to be a teacher at Chichester University and also completed her MA degree there in strategic leadership and operational management. She has worked in Hampshire and West Sussex schools at leadership level, and also as a Hampshire lead teacher/trainer for eight years of her career. Away from work, she enjoys travelling abroad, gardening, reading and arts/crafts.

 

 

 

Anna Dale-Harris
Co-opted Governor

Anna and her family have lived in Greatham for 25 years, and she now has strong links with the local community. Anna's children attended Greatham Primary School. Knowing how important education is, she would like to offer support to the teachers and local families, as they educate the next generation. Anna has worked as a Benefits Advisor for the Petersfield CAB. As a Parish Councillor she chaired the planning committee, and represented the Parish Council at public enquiries. Anna believes in the potential of every child, and the crucial importance of supporting them through their education.

 

Sue Godby
Co-opted Governor 

Sue is an experienced Occupational Therapist specialising in vocational rehabilitation and occupational health. Sue works as an independent practitioner supporting people to return to work after illness and injury either to their own or alternative roles. She previously worked in NHS mental health services, the insurance sector and ran her own business. Sue’s grandchildren attend the school and she is actively involved in village life. She has held trustee positions in youth and mental health charities, led a Parish youth team and is an Enterprise Advisor for The Petersfield Secondary School. Sue supports the school’s values and is delighted to work with the board of governors to ensure that Greatham School continues to provide a supportive and enriching environment where all children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

 

Naomi Franco
Co-opted Governor 

Naomi is an Associate Assistant Headteacher at Bohunt School in Liphook, leading on personal development. She has been a secondary school drama teacher for nearly ten years and previously worked in an inner London secondary school. Naomi studied at Sussex University and is passionate about supporting children to grow in confidence, resilience, and creativity. She believes that a strong foundation in personal development during the primary years is key to helping pupils thrive both academically and personally. Outside of school, Naomi enjoys keeping fit, spending time with friends and family, and relaxing with her cat. She is excited to be part of the governing body and to support the school community in helping every child flourish.

Helen Perry
Parent Governor 

Helen is a parent governor with strong ties to Greatham Primary School, where one of her children is currently enrolled and two have recently moved on to senior school. With over 20 years of experience in the social housing sector, Helen brings a wealth of expertise across a range of disciplines. Her career has spanned various management roles, including leading national projects across the UK that focus on data analysis, community engagement, public relations, and financial planning.Helen’s specialist knowledge of communications, inclusion, and stakeholder engagement equips her with valuable skills that she hopes will strengthen and support the work of the governing board. Outside of her professional life, Helen is an avid supporter of youth football and can often be found cheering her sons on from the sidelines at matches across Hampshire. She enjoys running, swimming, and painting, and also plays an active role as an administrator for the local football club her sons are part of.

 

Richard Wharton
Co-opted Governor 

Richard is the vicar of Greatham and has a particular interest in ensuring that the school is an inclusive learning environment where all children can flourish personally and socially as well as academically. Before being ordained, Richard spent most of his career in education; he was headteacher of two Hampshire schools and an education adviser for Hampshire Local Authority. For the last 10 years, Richard has been Education Adviser for the CofE schools within the Portsmouth and Winchester Diocese. He has been a governor of several schools and has supported the work of many governing bodies.
