Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND)
Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) organises help for any child who may need additional support. The Special Needs Assistant works with children who need support beyond the classroom to enable continued development in all areas of their learning. The staff will take individuals or groups of children, following work planned on a PLP (Personal Learning Plan). This could be on phonic, spelling or numeracy support. The schools ELSA (Educational Literacy Support Assistant) is able to work on listening and social skills. Other professionals who are based outside the school, work closely with the learning support team - such as educational psychologist (EP), speech and language therapist (SaLT), school nurses and parent support advisor (PSA), who can offer further specialist help if and where needed.
